I am on Virgin Mobile and can't get 3g to work on my 920.
When I goto settings -> access point it just says "These settings are usually on your SIM card, but they don't seem to be here".

And when I use the VM sim app to request the MMS and WAP settings it fails every time. 3G works fine on my 900.

Have any of you had this? I don't have another micro sim to test with so not sure if it's just my sim.

Hi - Your problem is caused by the networks used - Why? When making use of the two main ones VC and MTN they automatically install ALL network settings (Access Points) ie. APN. These other networks like VM, Cell-C and 8Ta do not install automatically, you need to add these APN settings manually as supplied by the respective network you are using if on VM, Cell-C and 8Ta. The other problem now arises that often these network engineers do not know the this info or have the correct ones.
This now highlights a possible reason why these networks are not being supplied or sell these phones. All my mates on VC and MTN did not have this problem due to automatic install of APN.
IN SHORT - YOU HAVE A NETWORK PROBLEM - NOT A SIM PROBLEM
As a last resort to Device Rest with your SIM in - Settings/About/Reset your Phone- in other words a Hard Reset.
Sorry I was not of much help.

Hey, I fixed it!
I was going into settings to do a hard reset like Ivanr suggested and noticed that the small text under Access Point said something different. I went into there and it now had an option that said Cell C. I tapped that and it downloaded settings and now it's working 100% :D
I've watched my airtime and it doesn't look like I'm paying roaming fees or anything so I guess Virgin is just using their towers or something.
