Do you use a wrist rest ?

If so what type ?

Think all of us with Carpal tunnel syndrome deeply appreciate ergonomic gear... Also what keyboard do you find works best for long work hours.
 
Though it was not my original intention I'm using two for my work setup,
The Kensington Optimise IT Foam Wrist Rest and a Redragon METEOR Large Gaming Keyboard Wrist Pad

The kensington is taller and squishy and the redragon is slanted and rigid with a bit of cushioning.

Originally I got the redragon for my gaming pc and the kensington for my work setup.
But pretty soon after that I got I got a desk mat for my gaming pc and it felt like I didn't need a wrist wrest anymore as the mat made it more comfortable for my palms also as the height of the keyboard, desk and arm wrests of my chair all align now and made a wrist rest feel unnecessary.

The desk I use for my work setup is higher and the desk my gaming pc is on is lower. The keyboards and how far I position the keyboards from me are different between work and gaming pc, so these are all factors I suppose in whether one needs a wrist rest or not.

I got a similar situation finally upgraded Razer Cynosa V2. It is a good keyboard but it is not one that I would recommend. but I have it completely flat and it seems to work just fine. I downgraded from a Razor Black Widow Mini thanks to a misunderstanding between it and gravity... Needless to say gravity won...

So yea got to say I like the membrane more actually
 
Wrist rest impedes blood flow and is a bad idea. i had carpal tunnel issues and creating a setup where you wrists are straight/level is best

I was thinking hard wood wrist rest. I was told by many people not to go with something soft.

That world map mouse pad gets around :-). I've got 2, my son is using my old one as his one was fading.
I also use a red dragon wrist pad at home, nothing at work yet.

Yup I got it for R80 on special on takealot and I don't think much different from the several hundred bucks corsair equivalent.

I should grab an extra one when on special as a spare.

Well if you never move then you will be more fragile; man simply wasn't meant to be seated 24/7 / most of the time. Just my opinion...

Yup I grabbed a second one for my son, backed when he thought it was sooo awesome, now he's almost 11 and can already see the teenage disdain for things seeping through.
 
I guess the question is do I make one or buy one ?
 
Your keyboard should actually not be at an incline. Should be flat or slightly tilted away from you. And you sitting at a height so that your forearms are level and only your palms resting on something with your hands extending horizontally or even slightly downwards. Super comfortable when you get it right

My table and chair is a miss-match but my keyboard is flat as can be but I have to admit I wish I could sit a bit higher. I am planning on getting a better chair soon but talk about expensive crap. Most chairs isn't worth the R6K they charge for it and the cheaper R2K chairs isn't worth the money as they fail within a year.

Gaming chairs are crap I had one and gave it away. I am not a tall person so they never feel right to me.

Yeah, chairs are so overpriced. Stay away from the gaming rubbish.

But can get a decent ergonomic for 3-3.5K.
 
I remember using some keyboards with the wrist rest back in the day and found my wrists hurt more! Lol. The flat keyboard I have now doesn’t hurt. Sometimes I get pain in my mouse hand, but if I rest it for a bit it’s fine for a few weeks again.

I have the same problem, I found that for me personally this solved it. Not all of them feel the same so find one that you like
