Considering that the WRT54G is so versatile (reprogrammable) and will remain at the cutting edge for so long (there is no major upgrade to 802.11g on the horizon) and compatable with existing technology, I was wondering :

How many of you would be interested in importing it in bulk ?

Let's say we buy 10 from amazon and send it by courier here, then my calculations show it would cost about R500 each. And if we buy it from a cheaper source / get more takers, the price could drop to R400.

Any takers ?

(Price data :

)

How many ? Let's say the price is R550. If it turns out to be cheaper, I'll invoice you for less.

Problem : I guess the one on amazon.com comes with a 110V adapter and in any case amazon ships it only to US addresses.

amazon.co.uk is much more expensive (GBP50 vs. USD60 at amazon.com).

OK Retail is about R750-R800. If you get it directly from the supplier then +-R650 incl if not cheaper. So why go through the trouble???

The price directly from the suppliers almost matches this nic. It really is cheap. Speak to daffy if you need ad-hoc orders.

What version would it be, I got a ver2.2 and it has the drop wlan problem when there is high throughput transfers from wired ----> wlan. Wouldent want to get one that does the same thing.

perhaps this is a memory problem, y not try a different firmware, not the bloated svesaofts, but rather something like hyperwrt?
generally when these routers go bad, its the firmware, not the hardware!

Got my WRT54G today, took me less than an hour to flash with HyperWRT and set it all up. Works like a dream. :D
