I noticed I got capped but knew that I could not possibly have downloaded 2GB's - my download manager says 1.150GB.

So I looked at my emails and got this little message (what is wrong with this picture??)

We trust that you are well!

Please note that your account ([email protected]) has
used 100% of the bandwidth that is included
with your 2 GB package.

The 2 GB package includes 1243.43 MB of
traffic and you have used 1243.43 MB so far.

We calculated that you have a total of 1.214 GB bandwidth
(including all of your additional TopUp Bundles purchased) available for
this period and have used a total of 1.214 GB so far.

What does this mean for you?

Once you have reached 100% of your bandwidth your account will be
capped and you will no longer be able to connect to the internet until
the 1st of next month.

Well... scuttle that idea then.

I haven't had a single issue since joining when they launched the R29/gb deal, but it does seem as if they need to re-evaluate their support structures - especially over weekends. Hope it gets sorted...

did you purchase any additional bandwidth- a top up perhaps? I get similar messages, but they are only talking about your original data- top ups not included

Edit* ok reading it again, this doesnt seem like the case- contact them....

It's the middle of the month, you've been pro-rated.

Very crappy wording in the email though.

Damnit - knew I shouldn't have skipped my coffee this morning. I are not awake. :o

Yesterday was the 12th, so about 58% of the month left. You bought 2gb, of which you got 58%. Check your bill - you should only have paid about R33 instead of the full R58.

Aaaaaaaaaaaag for CRYING OUT LOUD! If I buy 2GB I want 2GB no matter where in the month I am! And I did not want an account either, I just wanted 2GB's once off. So what do I do now, buy another 1GB, pay for 500MB? This is ridiculous.

So you were looking for 2gb prepaid (which would've cost you R39/gb) and you signed up for a new month-to-month account instead, then. Whoops on your part... :p

If it's once off you have to use the pre-paid option.

I guess their reasoning is that if you sign up on the 28th of the month or so, you don't have to pay the full 2 GB price. Most users don't use 2 gigs in a night :) - they're assuming that you want 2 gigs a month if you sign up for an account.

Hi there is may be worthwhile making a distinction between month-to-month (R29|GB) and prepaid (R39|GB). Prepaid should expire until all GB used or 12 months whichever comes first--also if you topup the new GB expires 12 months down the line or when all used up.

Well prepaid does not expire so not too sure why you would want to limit it.

1. Download managers never reflects 100% correctly. They are notorious for giving incorrect data and there is just no getting around it.
2. If you are capped already and they claim you have used 1243.43 MB it means that the remainder must have been uploads 756.57.

But if it is people should really include that because it creates confusion.
