Now on hold for 34 mins FUUUUUU....... Logged a hellopeter complaint but see they don't respond.
 
They offer a call-back function. It normally works very well for me. They've taken longer than their initial forecast to respond, but thus far they've called me back every time.
 
From what I've experienced the last 2 weeks the callback function only kicks in if you're in the queue longer than 30minutes,that or it was broken the 3 times I had to phone and wait 30ish minutes for the message to prompt me to be called back
 
I used to work in a call centre so I view this as really sloppy for such a big company
 
Or take 10min sessions with other people in your family, makes the 80mins waiting time seem less.
 
i all ways get a good movie on before i call them hehe hate calling them.
 
Well got through to them this morning - 11 days and they haven't even set a date for line installation :'( and dear god theres still adsl line activation after that
 
yea thats normal, it is to be expected to wait around 4 weeks for line installation, most times more
 
Used to have a friend in Telkom who got things done within a week - unfortunately he quit

I went through the same problem for 3 months until i decided to get creative. Heres what i did, maybe you can do the same:
1.Get the job number allocated to your request.
2.depending on your area, im sure you can find a telkom guy hanging around somewhere.
3. Tell him/her that you have a job number. Ask if he/she would be able to help you, maybe install the line on a Saturday "privately"
4. the techs are able to activate the line immediately and test. he made one call, and it was sorted.

I had all of this done in under 3 hours and because I took up the 1 month trial. i could do the self install... Bear in mind that my exchange could accommodate me immediately...

Again all of this will be done legally due to the fact that you're using a valid job number, you're just speeding up the process :)
