So I've been moved from Afrihost to directly IS servers and boy I am frankly fed up after 2 days.

After 2 days the IS servers say I have used 6.5 gbs of data and all I have done is download a couple of trailerss, all below 100mb, and browsed the web without any streaming of content whatsoever.

What the hell is going on over there at IS. They genuinely believe that I've moved 6gb of data when it is absolutely impossible for me to have done so.

No one in my family uses the nest after 12 midnight until like 5 earliest and no one was downloading last night, but for some strange reason I ended up using over 1.2 gigs of bandwidth from 1:46 - 5:40 am in the morning, at nearly 400mb an hour.

Is this some sort of common problem?
because I am on that 10 day rolling period thing, which I have no problem with until now that my bandwidth is getting sucked for no apparent reason.

I would probably assume IS's logs are f'd up and this is yet another way to steal money from Consumers. Since no one is really checking/complaining about bandwidth usage...yet.

OR, maybe you have an ANTI-VIRUS program running on all of your computers and the programs are downloading/getting updates?(still shouldn't add up to 6 gigs!)

...but either way, 400mb/hour is insane. Something is wrong on IS side.

I hate IS and I am moving away from them first thing next week.

Switch the modem off when you go to bed tonight and look at the IS usage logs tomorrow morning.

Says I've done more than 6 gigs this month. That's completely impossible with the speeds I've been getting. Haven't downloaded either. Where do they get these figures from?

If the comp is off then nothing. So I assume antivirusis updating, but still hectic.
I contacted Afrihost and they said they reset my account and since then the bandwidth used has dropped to more 'acceptable' levels.

Crazy right? I suggest you do what I did ans ask your ISP to reset your account because you've been experiencing absurd bandwidth numbers from IS. Seemed to work for me, for now anyways.
Have dropped from 10.5 gigs in 3 days to 4.7 gigs in the next 3.

and downloading has remained the same on my side. Weird.
