WV Polo Alternatoer regulator problem

ok then.....

It seems to be sorted out ( touch wood )

First : the original regulator actually works, didnt have to replace it.

The problem was the 175A fuse over the battery. Replaced that and its running fine for the last week.

So : cost breakdown : 1 x cheap alternator regulator = R 280
1 x proper alternator regulator from Bosch = R 600
1 x 175A fuse from VW = R 38
TOTAL = R 1218,00 ( and i have 2 spare regulators!)

Could have been worse, could have wasted alot more replacing the alternator
