Has anyone bought this game yet, and what are your honest thoughts on it? I haven't played a WWE game in ages. The last game I played was WWE 13 on the PlayStation 3. I believe it was the last WWE game ever to be published by THQ before they went belly up. I'm in the mood for a new WWE game, and was wondering which one is the best one to get for PS5/PS4/XBO/XBSX/XBSS? Is this new one (2K22) any good, or should I just get 2K19, since I've heard a lot of good things about that one. I know that 2K20 was a monumental disaster, so I know to stay far away from that one.

Just to clarify, I'm not looking for a serious competitive simulator type game. All I'm looking for is a fun wrestling based game to play with friends.

To date, I have bought all the WWE 2K wrestling games on PC, including WWE 2K22. Graphically 2K22 is head and shoulders above the rest and its the best looking game in the entire 2K franchise. I don't know for which platform you want to buy (as you listed multiple) but doesn't really matter where you get it, its quite good overall. In my 4 hours + play time, I have only played multiplayer with internationals and I have had a BLAST and a lot of laughs along the way (even with a little bit of latency thrown in for good measure) :D

Buying any WWE game really is the best and most fun you can have with friends, so you won't make a mistake if you pick up a copy of WWE 2K22 for that reason alone :)

Here is a review by IGN:

Last one I had was 2K2017
Watched videos on all of them, and every new one just looks like the previous one rinse repeat.
Even the custom music and entrance themes are exactly the same.
That's just lazy.

2K20 seemed to have been an absolute disaster

Watching videos on 2K22 even though it is a different developer they still reuse the same old generic clothes, entrances and music.

I would like to try the new one, but with the lowest price being over a thousand bucks, I don't see any justification to spend that amount of money when I can just keep playing 2K17 with the same items and modes minus an updated roster.

Well its on cdkeys.com for R852 (where I bought mine). No way I'm buying it for R1K+ on Steam. Probably still expensive for the majority of people, but for the hours of fun I get from the game, I don't mind paying.

PS: If you're keen on expanding your copy of 2K17, why not get some mods for it over at smacktalks.org. Back in the day, I downloaded a ton of mods for 2K15 which was quite awesome.

I've seen some people on the Internet say that the movesets for some of the wrestlers in 2K22 are messed up and that they use moves in the game that those wrestlers never use in the WWE, or some wrestlers having the wrong finisher or wrong signature move in the game. How bad is this issue really? It seems like a weird thing for the developers to get wrong.

To be honest, I haven't seen this myself nor have I read / saw a video detailing this. I don't really bother with reviews or what people say on the internet about games, I usually make up my own mind and play the game for what it is :)
