x1 on vodacom or mtn - which is better?

hey guys
i need your help
i want to get the x1 but im not sure if i should go vc or mtn
initially i wanted to go vc, heres why- i have 2gb data contract with them
which will end next month. i wanted to go the top up 275/315 route and get a cell phone and then just convert to data bundles each month. as 2gb is no longer necesary and 1 gb will suffice. and use the new contract in my usb modem and use my existing mtn voice contract in the x1.

but after reading through the various x1 threads im thinking the mtn route will be better as the phone wont be vodafone branded. i am aware that i can only load one bundle every 30 days with mtn. im just not sure how easy the conversion of data bundles is with mtn and if its even possible to do it with their "top up" contracts. i have been pretty happy with vodacoms data service and never really had any problems.

so do i go vodacom and stick with what i know or go with mtn who will probably stll be cheaper when the new specials come out, whenever that is??

currently i can get the x1 on the 315 top up for R+-460/pm. anyone know what available on mtn top up packages?

how is mtns prepaid data offering? is it equivalent to vodacom?
obviously i will have to test how good the reception is in my area
 
I've had no problems with MTN's data service, but their prepaid service for data is better than contract - instant update of airtime and you can purchase discounted airtime.
