You can change a setting in XBMC to get all SD content display in widescreen.
 
SS streaming on W&64bit

Hey guys, just downloaded this to watch the rugby. It downloaded the content and everything fine but as soon as i click on play, it either gives an error saying "one or more videos didnt play.Please check the logs"

Anyone any ideas on what to do?

Anybody know if this will work abroad? I'm currently in the US and would love an easy way to watch SS via XBMC.

I see they've eventually geocoded their actual streams as, trying to view the streams via the normal website gives me the "This video only works in South Africa" message.

Does this addon circumvent the geocoding by any chance?

Don't know how, but I never bothered with XBMC, but I luckily discovered this thread today (yeah I know, how did you only see this now), installed the prog, loaded your add-on's...and it works like a charm.

Try "wide zoom". No stretching, just lops off a bit top and bottom, thus eliminating the black bars at the side and filling your screen.
 
Don't know if this was mentioned here yet.Hotspot shield works with hulu and Netflix, the downside is you will have to uninstall expat shield.Will have to decide which you prefer BBC or hulu.
 
for the guys who are having problems with DSTV on demand script :

DSTV's web auth system relies on logging in with credentials, assigning a successful login with an authentication token, and then propogating that token throughout the session via a cookie (DStvConnect.AUTH). This cookie seems to be valid for a unnessarily long time and thus it was hard coded into the script (terrible I know).

To rememdy this:
  1. Get a valid cookie DStvConnect.AUTH cookie by logging into the DSTVOD site validly (use a friends account or else bum one off of a mate)
  2. View the cookie's session data (chrome - right click, inspect element, Network, any aspx file) and check the cookies tab and look for the DStvConnect.AUTH value.
  3. Go to your xbmc add-ons folder -> plugin.video.dstvondemand
  4. edit default.py and find the getRTMPString method, then replace the [session hash]in the cook variable (eg: cook = 'DStvConnect.AUTH=[session hash];' with your newly acquired hash.


It is terrible code et al; please don't get me wrong and abuse me. Sure a login screen demanding a username / pass and caching the resulting string can be implemented and that is something that could be enforced should we need it in the future.

For now, I hope that it will solve the immediate problem, but also go on to give those actually reading the code an idea of how the various assets are being manipuled, and thus a better grasp of exploiting weak security implementations such that they may avoid committing them in their own code.

Where have you been mate. we have missed you like crazy here ek se. are you busy with your coding. any info on what project you busy with currently. anything you wana share on bmc?, i.e. plugins, addons,etc

don't keep yourself scares man. as they say you goeie goed :D:D:D
 
Bounce - Supersport still isnt working for me, it loads the addon, then shows " Live Streaming" , and its empty.

I have tried 0.2.1 with 10.1 xbmc and the latest nightly build (19/09)
 
Hi Guys

From the feedback, it appears that any version after 0.1.1 should be treated as unstable due to the errors that are being reported and it is my recommendation that for all those experiencing problems revert back to version 0.1.1.

I have been working on a new version that I am currently still testing. Now that the project has been somewhat established, I will not be releasing versions without thorough testing and make it a priority to ensure that subsequent versions are as close to bug free as possible for all platforms.

hey bounce,

You mentioned that you were working on recording / scheduling earlier. Has this been implemented yet? If so on which version and how do you do it? I read that you were recommending to rollback to 0.1.1 so I have only downloaded and installed that version.

This is awesome work, keep it up!
