Quick question does this have a server option like plex or is it just one download for the server and other machines?

No. xbmc is standalone. If u have a roku stick with plex.

You can do something similar.with xbmc, not sure but it has something to do with mysql and databases

yep but it still requires running multiple instances of xbmc and the roku cannot run xbmc

I haven't seen this. The SQL thing is for synchronised media across multiple clients, but it won't do on the fly encoding like Plex.

I basically run a central Microserver XBMC box in the lounge, and have all other devices running XBMC. I just tell XBMC to grab content from the network share and it streams over my wireless. Simple as that. I also use the trakt plugin to synchronise my watched statuses across all devices.

I much prefer this to Plex. It's so simple to setup and XBMC just looks amazing...
