Hi All,

I am tired of paying DSTV for the rusbbish that they repeat all the time.

I would however not want to miss sport....

I know about sportsdevil on XBMC and sky sports is available on the where Id be able to watch all the super rugby etc.

Question is, Im fairly new to the Xbox and XBMC scene.

Can i just run a add on on my xbox for sportsdevil to beable to watch this on my tv?

thanks

A Sky Sports subscription is part of a sky bouquet which you can then access all TV & sports on the Sky app. You can purchase a Sky Sports day pass at 9 pounds! If you watch more than a few sport events a month then it quickly adds up.

I'm not aware of sportsdevil though?

As far as i know you cant run XBMC on any console: however you can get sportsdevil on an android phone(Note 3), computer or get yourself a raspbery pi.

You need any subscription with sportsdevil

So there is no other way to by pass supersport or watch the sport of other channels like the sky sport etc?

Yes there is.
I have 2 x Raspberry Pi: one will serve as a downloader(havent set it up yet) and the other as a browser(XBMC). The one i am testing with have xbmc and i can watch sportsdevil, among other channels, for free on it. I even installed xbmc on my note 3 and , suprisingly can stream sky sport over 3g. One thing i don like about the Raspberry is i have to use my phone as a remote for now.

There are set-top boxes that you can get that have a remote. They will robably set you back R1300 to R1600 depending on where you get it an what you getting.

One of the anoying cheaper version will be to connect your laptop or desktop to your tv and run xbmc from there.

Sportsdevil is free but very unreliable. Very often you cant access streams, and even then the quality is horrible
In order to use internet explorer on an xbox you need to have gold membership which is R50 a month

Xbmc will not work on the new Xbox 360s and will require a pc or android media player or something similar

A reliable alternative to DSTV is offstream and ntv
I use ntv and it costs around R210 a month with around 80 channels
It mainly has European soccer. I haven't seen any South African rugby tho
There are HD channels but you need a decent line speed

Check this thread for more on Ntv
