xbox 360 controller on pc

i have an xbox360 WIRED controller ... i have heard the control can work on pc games...i have plugged the control in but nothing happens does not even pick up on the pc...:confused:do i have to download a xbox 360 controller driver for the control or wat can i do:confused: n e 1 tried this yet????
 
The USB cable of 360 controllers are for POWER ONLY... you have to get a special adapter for the controller to work :P
 
are you talking "actual wired" or "wireless with plug n play kit" .... if the first then km2 is right but if the 2nd I was right :P ... I just assumed the 2nd which may be wrong :(
 
shot km2...downloaded the driver ...picked up the controll now working:D!!!
 
the only problem i have with control to pc is that ther iz no force feedback or vibration...but everthing else seems perfect ...any one else had the same problem?
 
Rumble is only available to some of the newer games (2007 onwards, Games for Windows support), if you want rumble in older games, you need to install a third party driver.
 
Cool thread. I want another xbox controller to play xbox ports with my son on pc. I currently use a Logitech Chillstream. Does anyone know where I can get a wired Microsoft Xbox controller in Centurion/Pretoria?
