Hi All

Does anyone know where I can have Xbox 360 wireless controllers repaired in the Cape Town area. There's a few laying at home with 1 or 2 buttons not working properly and now the kids want me to buy more controllers as the last 2 also has button problems. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

My suggestion: Just look for a second hand controller on Carbonite or Gumtree as my friend has done many times.

Some people throw them away for dirt cheap in the classifieds. Also compare a repairers price to a second hand controller, you might be in for more than you think even if its a button or two.

If you're lucky you might find an old non-wireless controller for dirt cheap. Just make sure you get the USB adapter that plugs in the end of the cable as well, else you got another problem. Check the buttons, triggers and sticks when purchasing as well. I myself have found 2 deals at like R150 - R250 a pop, at a good condition. No chargers and crap needed. Can use for PC gaming too without expensive USB adapters :)

Thanks for the suggestion. How do you test the buttons when purchasing secondhand. Contacted xmods.co.za and they do repair controllers at R180 per controller. I would still have to find out what shipping would cost from CPT to Durban and back though. Will look at online for secondhand.

This is something i would first try to do myself. Open it up and see if you can spot the problem and then go on youtube and search for common button problems and how to fix it.
