Hi

Can anyone explain what the difference is between the Mongoose Edition and the Pro Value Bundle is (Kalahari links below)?

It seems to me (a console newbie) that the Mongoose edition has (arguably) better games and a different colour and thats about it.

I did some searching on google but I could not find any further information on the Mongoose edition.

Pro value bundle

Mongoose

Thanks.

The Mongoose Edition also comes with a Play and Charge kit which I don't think comes with the Pro Special.

The Mongoose has HDMI whereas none of the bundle Pros (that I've seen) have HDMI, could be wrong there. Also the Mongoose comes with the newer Falcon chipset so less chance of RRoD, also it's a lot quieter than a Pro.

The "Mongoose" Special is a local thing from what I gather, look for the Halo 3 special edition console to find all the relevant info. It's that and the games.

My Core RROD'd on Sunday and I managed to get an upgrade to the Arcade bundle, and it definitely runs muuuch quieter, both the fans and dvd drive. Also has HDMI, not that Ill use it.

360 Console
Wireless controller
256Mb Memory card (Can still add a Hard Drive later if you want)
5x XBLA games on disc (including Uno, Pacman CE)

+ (For SA)
Dead or Alive 4
Project Gotham racing 3

all for R2999

Guys, does the Mongoose Edition come with the 20GB HDD? I recon, because it's a Pro version? And is the HD Cable included, as i have a HD LCD TV and want to get the best graphics out of it?

What games are included in the Mongoose Edition?

Yes it does.

Nope, it's the Limited Edition Halo SKU.

If by HD cable you mean the component cable then yes it does. The console does have an HDMI port though but the HDMI cable isn't bundled, neither is the VGA cable. If you want those you're gonna have to buy them separately.

What games are included in the Mongoose Edition?

Halo 3, Forza 2 and Viva Pinata.

Halo 3, Forza 2 and Viva Pinata.?? Are you serious?

Where did you see that, because on the specs on kalahari i didnt see that?

I bought the Mongoose Special so yeah I'm pretty sure. ;) I bought mine from BT Games though.

EDIT. The R3199 special at Kalahari is not a bundle, it's just the Halo Edition console, no games. The R4000 one from BT is the bundled system.

Holy Crap, thats good news, and i think it's a very good deal! :)

When did you buy yours, and how much did you pay at BT? Kalahari has it for R3199 including delivery?

See my edited post bud, there's no way on earth you're gonna get the Mongoose with 3 games for R3199, it's the console ONLY. :)

I know this have probably been asked 1000 times, but will i be able to play my games in HD with the cable that comes with this console? I have a TRUE/FULL HD LCD TV, 1080p. DO i need the HDMI Cable, or will the HD AV Cable do the trick that comes with the box?

R800 more and you have 2 bundles to choose from, Mongoose or Pro. Both bundles seem pretty to me. Reason I took the Mongoose one over the Pro is the Mongoose has the Falcon chipset (runs cooler) and the DVD drive is WAY quieter than the normal Pros. The Mongoose bundle also comes with a Play and Charge kit which is brilliant. Hope this helps you make your decision.

The component cable does 720p, 1080i and 1080p so the answer is yes.
