M$
» Xbox 360: 4,735,000

Sony
» PSP: 3,829,500
» PS3: 3,544,100
» PS2: 2,502,700

total 6,046,800 consoles ++ 3,829,500 PSP's

:D

Thus Sony is still on top of M$ concerning total console sales.
M$ do not have any portable playerlike the PSP/DS

WII is the winner! :p

I also find it interesting that 2.5 million consumers still thought that the PS2 offers more value than the Xbox360.

With that logic, then we should add MS Zune sales.

Windows and Office sales for that matter as well.

Twisted logic worthy of a droid

Likewise the same 2.5mil picked the PS2 over the PS3 too

I find your addition of PSP's and PS2's to PS3 sales figures in relation to 360 sales figures to be utterly ridiculous. You cannot add apples and oranges despite how hard you try.

Think before you type.

He might as well. They are just as irrelevant to the topic at hand.

His rampant fanboyism has caused him to make it an issue of company versus company instead of product versus product.

I didn't know the PS2 was competing with the 360, explains why Sony is falling behind though

I agree, I am hardly a fan of Microsoft Windows; yet I love my 360. I don't want a Sony PS3; but I wouldn't buy anything but a Sony Ericsson phone.

Apples with apples people.

Indeed. I've been accused of being a MS fanboy and anti-Sony on here plenty.

I must be a funny kinda MS fanboy seeing as I own a PSP, play my 360 on a Bravia and have only owned Sony-Ericsson phones (prior to my Omnia) :D

Which is why you're correct in saying that this should be product vs product, not company vs company.

So as long as the thread is about the PS3 its okay? Think double standards. Think pot... think kettle... think black.

I would have said nothing if you didn't make this remark Mr Kettle :p

EDIT: outselling the PS3 by 1.2million units was also a highlight for the year! So much for 2008 being the year of the PS3 :D

and like I said it just america's console sale's geezz that's like saying you've won a election with only one third of the vote's counted

Okay then, lets take EU and Japanese sales into account and that number almost doubles from 1.2million to 2.2million more units in 2008 than the PS3. Thanks for pointing that out, we'd hate Sony to miss out on the fact that the PS3 was outsold in the EU as well.

Ok that's a nice statement and all but where's your link to prove it. I have a link to add to my statement :p

Something interesting to read :D

He never adds links, starts a flame war and then play the poor innocent.
He posted the stats I made a valid observation. Obviously the Xbot fanbois did not like the obvious question. BTW apart from all your fanboi rants here there is no definitive answer given to the observation. I must have touched a nerve.

Then there is the WII. Really scrambling the Xbots eggs. But lets not go there. Lets stick to the topic at hand.

The Xbox360 only sold 1.7 million more consoles than the PS3 with a full year head start. That is to be considered against the background of a higher priced PS3, the lack of PS3 titles and the fact that M$ had to lower the price to stem the tide. Shame! What an horrific achievement. (That will be one weeks PS3 sales during March.)

We will see how M$ is going the stem the tide during 2009. :D
