Hi

I was wondering if anyone would know of a way to play games over the internet without having to sign in to xbox live. Something like lan over internet. I think hamatchi might work but for that you need international bandwidth.
Is there a way to play multiplayer on local cap? (It doesnt have to be xbox live, just multiplayer). And would anyone be interested?

and in 2 years time toyota's will fly ! ! please dont ask impossible questions ! hamachi wont work and multiplayer on local wont work ! period.

Actually DOHC I don't think that's 100%

I believe you can use Hamaichi or X-Link Kai to emulate a local network, but you have to have a PC to act as a gateway via ICS.

My contention has always been though, that Xbox Live is definitely worth the R30 a month. You do yourself a disservice but cutting yourself even from Silver.

Yes X-Link Kai can do it.

R30 a month? how much cap do you need? (Say I'm gona play NFS UC and COD4 about 5 hours a week)

edit: oh and yeah xbl gold might not be such a good idea seeing that mine is flashed lol

Such is the nature of human choice ;)

playing as client = 20-60Mb/hour, host = 60-100mb/hour

since when has it been R30 a month?? I used to about R140 before i cancelled.

Jeepers, were you couriering it in on pegasus via Athens? ;)

At worst I paid $80 a month when I was paying month by month direct to Microsoft.

the best place is here:
http://www.microsoftpointsxbox.com/

13 months @ $44 = R35 per month, even at this ridiculous exchange rate. When I bought mine I scored at R27/month.

Is a Europe account much more ?

Xbox Live Gold Subscriptions are not Region locked. I have a UK account and buy the cheap US subs online, from the above mentioned site.

The points however are region specific, but you can get UK points from here:
https://www.gamepointsnow.com/

I have used both sites without issue, they are really convenient and nearly instant as they email the codes to you.

I'm 99% sure that if you set up a local VPN then you can play 360 against each other without having to use live!

This would be cool just to be able to use local bandwidth - mores the pity that MS won't put any Live Servers here...

Having servers here wouldn't really help. The only thing Live servers are used for is authentication and matchmaking, the bulk of the traffic is local anyway as most games are hosted on the console.
