Just got my XBOX360 Value Bundle from Kalahari, all looked good... found FIFA 08, WWE 08 in separate boxes. Whereas Viva Pinata and Forza 2 were in a single box with the Forza 2 manual lying separate

No big deal tho... only thing I'm disappointed about is that this console doesnt have HDMI :( and its manufacture date is 20060901...

so I need help from you guys, is this console from those bad batch XBOX's that freeze and give red ring of death or wateva???

PS: neva still plug it in or anything, still at work

It doesn't really matter. If it does break you can just swap it out.

I've been wondering the same thing regarding the Arcade version. They may actually be former Red Ringers redistributed as cheaper "Specials". I'm still getting one though, if it dies on me I'll simply swop it out.

Geri - Arcade SKU is definitely HDMI enabled, it's on the feature list.

@Salex - what they said ;) Mines be running 4 hours a day for over a year with no real issues.

TNX dolby :)

Strange request... can I swop it out and get an HDMI model BEFORE the system malfunctions or wateva?

I'm not sure - but read up on HDMI ... it's not that fantastic :/ Most reviews I read cannot see a difference at all. I have HDMI/component on my TV and connect with component.

The only thing I see for some is convience.

Well I just got off the phone with MI Digital about potential swap outs and here's the good news - it might not have HDMI but it should have the new thermals - ie not susceptible to RRoD.

On HDMI - why? The opinions I've seen are that component is either as good, or in some cases better (softer, more natural) than HDMI. Short of just running out of plugs, I don't see the need. (Running 5.1 sound is also more difficult with HDMI)

Doobiwan is another guy like Gav who calms my mind regarding gaming :)

Just one Q, u sure my console is not susceptible to RRoD cos the manufacture date on it is 20060901...

Hey congrats Salex

No one can say for sure that your console is not susceptible since every electronic device has a failure rate...

However the failure rate of the 360's seems to have come down to a more reasonable amount (still to high) now and I wouldn't worry to much about it.

You have a 3 year guarantee against the RROD and Incredible connection are generally very good at swapping it out. My dads was replaced within 15 minutes (for a different problem).

Also like everyone else has said the HDMI thing appears to be completely over rated. Personally I don't know enough to have a true opinion :D

Umm Gav, would IC still swap it if I never purchase it from them? I got it from Kalahari, n I dont know of any planes goin that way to drop it off in the middle of the desert :P

Why did I think you got it from IC?

Sorry my mistake, no I doubt IC would replace it you would have to get Kalahari to replace it... or you would phone MI Digital...

Not sure how all that would work

If you don't have a physical store to take it to, you can take it directly to MI Digital. I see you're in Joburg, so are they, so you can just take a drive over there, if you have an issue.

Hmm September 06, well mines August 06 and going strong since November last year.

any1 got an address to MI Digital? or more info on em...
