I have my router set to PPPOE because I use different types of connections from different ISP's. When I enter the PPPOE settings on my Xbox it works fine but when I want to access pictures, music or videos over the network connection the console can't find the PC. When I remove the PPOE settings and restart the console I can then access everything fine over the network but of course I have to put the settings back when I want to use Live. Now I’m not sure if I'm the only one with this problem and I can't remember having it before I updated my console with the February update.
Any advice on how I can get around this or at least undrstand why it does this?

Mine is the same. I seem to remember it was slightly better after the last update. Otherwise it really sucks. It seems the xbox can only have like 1 set of ip settings etc at a time.

NAT settings on your router should sort this out.

I realise this is a Necro and I apologise but this is the identical problem that I am having.

I was wondering if someone could please elaborate on what the NAT settings should be (I understanding NAT BTW).

To add to the problem description.... I have found that when PPPoE is set up on the XBOX360 the DHCP doesn't work. It either gets no IP, or an IP on a totally different subnet... like one of those Private Network IP's that Windows Generates.

What ports need to be forwarded for XBOX Live?

Thanks.
