Looking for someone in Cape Town who does repairs on out of warranty Xbox's. Please PM me details.
 
I finally got hold of Mark from consoledoctor and he is only taking on work from Monday. The cell number on his site is still valid but he is in Bothasig now.
 
Subterrania always did a good job with my PS2. Not sure if they're still around.

Definitely. I phoned quite a few guys here. They either don't really want to help you, or you can hear by their comments that they don't know what they're doing.

Took the Xbox to some guy, 2 days later he says he can't fix it. :(

TBH there are certain things that cannot be fixed.

However, if all you have are the basic tools then of course you're not going to be able to do much in terms of repairs.

Most Xbox guys just want to do laser replacements, drive replacements and fix RROD with a heatgun.

I'm quite excited on the developments in my repertoire for 2010. Includes re-balling and JTAG hacking :D
