Xbox 360 Wireless Controller on PC help!

I am struggling to connect my Xbox 360 Wireless controller to my PC.

My Xbox is on my desk next to my PC and whenever I press and hold the "guide" button, my xbox turns on.

Is there a way I can stop the xbox from powering on when I turn the controller on?

do you have the wireless controller receiver plugged into a USB port? if not then its not going to work.

Pull the plug out of the XBox while synching the wireless dongle & controller.

Get a wired 360 controller for your pc.

just unplug your xbox while you are using the PC, then no problem
