Xbox 720 announcement coming soon?

What if the console is nothing, just thin air? So Sony did actually show the console.

This is the future.

Xbox already owns PS3, and so it will happen again I am sure.
I like the specs and features of the PS4 announcement. Got a giggle when they boasted about their world best gaming network. The online experience (and crap controllers) was the main reason I sold my 2 PS3's and have 5 Xboxes. Got hope for the PS4 though. Nice to have good options.

The rumours seem to be pointing to them running relatively similar APU's actually.. so it might be a much tighter race than before.

On the hardware side - yes.
I can honestly say I never compared the specs of the PS3 and Xbox360 though. What I could do with them mattered more and Microsoft are streaks ahead of Sony here.
I got over comparing hardware specs when I migrated from PC gaming to console.

Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the launch with identical (core) specs. The two companies pretty much in identical positions & face with the same choices & compromises.

Complete agree with both of you on this...

Specifically @Mike, I have both consoles, and whilst I use them rarely nowadays, my console of preference is still the Xbox because its just a better experience.

I expect that same from MS, if only because they've been working on the x86 architecture for so long that they have mountains of experience in comparison to Sony.

I also see MS's motion technology being streaks ahead of Sony as well.

Ye. Even has me as a ballie jumping about the lounge (with the kids of course) :p

I am also very curious to see where MS is going to take Smartglass. So far it has not amounted to more than "oh cool. That's neat" and not used it again. I can see the potential and feel something special is coming.

EDIT: My que to sell my PS3's was when I noticed they were going brown. Turned out to be dust :)

And the only reason you have 5 Xbox's is because 4 of them had RRoD right? :p

Early days - yes. The old white Pro's all pretty much gave me RROD. A quick trip to MiDigital (Powercare now) got them sorted out though.
I gave one Pro to a mate of mine and the other which is still RROD is living in the cupboard.
In the house I have an Elite in the lounge, an Elite in my sons room, and a slim in my HT/Gaming room. These are all fine and never given me issues. So 3 working consoles, 1 bust and gave one away.
