Xbox Arcade - Comes with what?

Hello,

For the Xbox fundi's who have bought an arcade version, help on this please?

1.Does the xbox arcade come with a memory card as standard?
2.Can i hook up a portable drive to the arcade to play movies and music?

As far as I know the memory is now built into the system, so no separate card is included anymore.

Yes you can hook up an external drive, but it has to be FAT32 or the Apple file system. There are also limitations on what movie and music formats the Xbox can play.

I think i read the internal is for updates? I'm not sure cause one sales guy says it comes with the card, the other says it's the internal? Wish these guys would just catch a check up from the neck up.

Yup - been able to play mkv, avi, divx, xvid, mpeg, vob and flv.
Haven't tried MOV yet .... but I doubt if it will work.
 
on the new aracades there is built in memory of 256mb, so no card with the package

Do you not have to download an update first?
 
The Arcade is not worth it. The Elite is going super cheap this holiday season. The 120GB hard drive that the Elite comes with is R1700 itself.

Incredible Connection has the Elite for R2999.

Look & Listen has the Elite + 2 controllers + Pure + Batman for R3499.
 
yip yip ! get a ps3 guy! but never the less reagrdin the 360 i got mine with 2 platiniums 2 years ago DOA4 and PGR3 4 2 grand worth it with the 256 mem card is all standard

Xbox not for me. I've got a ps3 and had an Xbox 360 (note the trend). He is short of bucks, but his girlfriend is moaning for a new console and thats all he can afford.
