My xbox 360 has been showing a green and red hue after playing for prolonged time. This morning when I started the console it wouldn't boot, it sounded like it booted (disc in tray spins, fans turn on), but there is no audio or video. IC says they can't help me because the company that imports the Xbox has closed down so they can't ship it for repairs. Anyone know what I can do to fix it?

RRoD maybe? if so your best bet is Powercare.
Seems like the GPU is gone. Basically it's the same thing as RRoD but without the red rings. When did you purchase the console? It should be replaceable under warranty.

The console is currently out of warranty and there is no RROD. The tv doesn't seem to get a signal from the xBox and when I unplug the composite cable I get a RROD, which makes me think it is a faulty cable. Anyone know if this is the case, I don't want to drop R300 for a new cable and find out it is not the problem.

Maybe you could try and get lend a cable from a buddy or some you know to test.
