So ive got a 360 arcade, been using it on a normal crt tv, does'nt come with hdmi just left/right video. Im getting a fhd lcd tomorrow and was wondering what i should get, either a hdmi cable or component, is their a big difference between the two, and dawm the official xbox ones are expensive, R500 for the hdmi. Also must one use official xbox products to do this. Will there be a noticable drop in quality if i just continue using l/r video to play games? Thanks, hope i have written this correctly, not to big on all the lingo.

dude you will go to hell if you use your standard cable on a lcd. Just buy a hdmi cable from one of the retailers. You dont need the official one.

Agreed, there is a BIG difference between using composite cables and HD cables on a lcd.

I've got an extra component cable for the xbox if you're interested. I'm in CT.

thanks for info jeppe777, didnt realise one could use any hdmi cable, you just saved me some dosh----thanks, thanks for offer retro, but just gonna buy a cheap hdmi cable.

The only reason to buy the official cable is if you require a SPDIF/Optical/Toslink port.

i bought a hdmi cable from the local pc shop - R150 - works like a dream! There's a HUGE difference between composite and hdmi.
