Greetings fellow gamer,

I was trying to make an iso image on my pc of an XBOX original DVD. Lego NTSC

Anyhow, I was trying to use poweriso, but it only reads the image at 44megs, which I know cannot be correct,

So please , pray tell, spew forth your knowledge, and inform me what pc based software you have used to make an .iso image of the game on your pc....

cheers

Morty

If you're trying to make a "backup" copy onto another DVD it is not that simple, if I'm not mistaken you need to use the actual xbox dvd drive to rip to image.

I just got me a 2nd XBOX, jtagged already. I am new to this, I have the original disc, but wish to copy the image to an external drive and pack the games away, my four year old like to use the discs as frisbees....

Anyhow, I did reasearch, first thing I have to do is make an .iso on my pc, before I use another piece of software to extract the files from the iso into a folder..... then I can transfer the folder to the external HD that is plugged into the Xbox..

My problem is I cannot make a PC based .iso as poweriso does not rip a true image file to extract from....

From what I can remember you required a specific LiteOn DVD-ROM with flashed firmware (the same drive that comes in an Xbox, or just take the drive out of your xbox and connect with SATA, flash firmware and then make ISO.

It's far more involved than just making an iso from your pc.
Old PS2 used to be simple like that.
Your PC won't be able to read the disk the same way an xbox drive can.
You can buy one of the DVD drives.

For now your best option would be to download iso files and record them as per the page I linked.

Ok! That makes sense, wondering now, If you can run homebrew apps on the xbox, is there not a utility that runs on the xbox to make a copy of the game!

I see that on Dashboard 3, there is utility already built in for copying game to the Xbox's harddrive. thanks

You still require the actual game to play.
The utility you speak of copies the game to the drive for you to play off the drive.
As far as I know you would still need to have a physical disk.

Nay! I am new to this, but am enjoying the research...

I bought this xbox on the internet, the chap told me that it had been hacked and had dash 3 on it....

I have just put Harry Bleedin Potter into the xbox, used the utility on the Dash to backup .... taken the DVD out the xbox... and viola.... playing the game without the disc.....

now I got to figure out the cover art....
