Eish...

Okay.. I recently signed up as a vox dealer, and thought i would buy myself a vox adsl voip phone to see what i am selling...

At the same time, i love playing on xbox live... i was happy to see that the vox router (SofTouch790) has wirelss, and even port forwarding for xbox live...
I am very ****ed off about the fact that it doesnt have an option for NAT services.. or NAT settings, which is a must for online gaming.

SO.... what i would like to do is setup my old, yet trusty, telkom 105wr router to be bridged with the VoX ST790 router, so i can still use the voip phone, connect to the internet on my pc, and play XBOX LIVE with the NAT features on the telkom router...

Any idea?

I was thinking of this situation... plug the dsl line directly into the telkom router. With a network cable, connect the two routers together.. play with some settings, and viola...
BUT... dont know what settings i am looking for...
ANY help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

SOLVED

Okay... Got it working.. more simple than I thought.

All i did was what i wanted to do... not special settings required... so... if you are like me and play on xbox live, or any other online gaming, and you just got a VOX ADSL Phone, do the following:

You need 2 modems to do this. On the VOX ST790 and another, assuming a standard Telkom modem...

With your telkom Router: Plug the adsl line into your telkom router. Enable wifi, and connect that router to your pc for access on your computer.
Take the vox router, and connect that, via network cable to the telkom router... Obviously there are settings that you need for your phone, but you can get that from vox...

and bobs your uncle.. should work no problem

I know it looks like i am bumping this on purpose, but im not... promise..

So, as you can read above, i "thought" i had it allllll figured out... But i dont...
The quick fix above worked for like 2 weeks... then, all of a sudden, this...

Telkom router address is the usual 10.0.0.2 right? The vox is 192.168.1.254... cool. so i had everything setup as above, then out of now where, now, if i check default gateway my pc is using, it is 192.168.1.254... NOT 10.0.0.2... and my pc is connected directly to the telkom router... not the vox.
Even stranger than that, is that the xbox is connected wirelessly to the router, with the same gateway address... very strange...

So my question is this... not to solve this current problem, but does anyone have a way that i can bridge the two, or something!?!? like explained in the 1st post..

Any help would be great!

Thanks
