XBOX Live Gold

Can you do that without chipping/rooting/jailbreaking/whatever you do on these things? And when you say way more content, you mean free content?
Not just free, but any content. Last time I check, the SA marketplace had like 10 games (admittedly this was a month or so after launch). And it takes ages for new content to be released due to delays at our FPB who need to rate it before approving it.

Don't need to chip anything, I just signed up for a @live.co.uk email address, set my location to UK, put in some arb UK address and postal code, and used this email address when creating an Xbox Live profile.

You should be able to browse using Internet Explorer without Gold.

You get a lot of stuff released earlier if on Gold and you qualify for all the discounts and specials which you can't access on Silver at all.

Month to month is always expensive, get a year subscription and forget about it.

And when you are gold you can add me as a friend "SauRoN ZA" just maybe drop me a message and tell me who you are first.

You mentioned Evo. Are they reputable? I see they have download vouchers for Crysis 2 for R89, Fable 3 for R49 and Fruit Ninja for R55 (not great but better than the 800 MS Points). Am I really missing something (besides not getting the discs and needing to wait a few days for downloads) or are these great prices?

I've used Evo, MSPoints and Takealot at some stage or the other. All of them reputable.

Thanks. Besides your reluctance to download yourself, do those look like good bargains or am I just new to this and not familiar with pricing? I saw Fable 1 in a bargain bin at Makro for more than that.

Prices do seem pretty good, tempted to get the Fable 3 one myself now that you mentioned it :D

Ha ha, I've got five waiting for me to just press checkout... that is a lot of download time though! ;) R341 gets me 5 games that I am almost certain would cost far more in a shop.

EDIT: I pulled the trigger :)

1 x Fruit Ninja - Kinect
+ R0.00 R55.00 R55.00

1 x Crisis 2
+ R0.00 R89.00 R89.00

1 x Fable 3
+ R0.00 R49.00 R49.00

1 x Gears of War 2
+ R0.00 R69.00 R69.00

1 x Halo Reach
+ R0.00 R79.00 R79.00

The lightie is going to think it is Christmas part three! :D

Woah, Crysis 2 and Gears of War 2 seem really cheap. Wish I had uncapped :(

No idea why someone wouldn't be on uncapped in this day and age.

Does anyone know of any other sites that sell games online the way EvoPoints does (ie pay and get sent a redemption code to use on your console to download the game)?

Specifically places that have bargains like those listed above.

Nah Clint only Evo I've seen.

Also those I believe are for SA Xbox Live only so anything you find in other regions won't work anyway.

But there are lots of games in the "On Demand" section on your Xbox 360 which you can just download directly and are normally pretty cheap.

Cool thanks. Been doing some searching this evening and also have found nothing. A few other places with MS Points but Evo seems the cheapest there too.

Has anyone tried Forza 4 online via 3g? I have a good 5mb down & 2mb up connection (speedtest)

I am tempted to get a one month gold account to test it before I buy a 3month/year subscription.
