Xbox Live Marketplace

I just tried something interesting. (Apologies if this has been mentioned).

I logged into: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/
and tried to purchase MS Points since I want some stuff on XBox Live.

I tried my Mastercard - Failed to authorise.
I tried a Visa card - Failed to authorise.

I tried an American Express Card - Successful.

i wouldn't have done that if i were you. it's a pain to get micro$oft to get your card off their systems. good luck

I bought only MS Points, not a recurring membership so I'm hoping it won't be a problem.

Went to Manage Payment Options and I could easily remove the card.
Let's see.

What method are other people using to buy points ?
I know you can get scratchcards/codes on the internet, but I understand they don't neccessarily work globally. That's why I wanted to buy on MS Marketplace, because it's loaded directly onto you account without any codes.

I've used them before for my Gold subscription, but my xbox account is UK based.

Use https://www.gamepointsnow.com/ instead if your account is UK based.

use one of the online retailers, it is cheaper than marketplace to get points.

I have the reverse problem, Live subs (gold) go off my CC fine, but I can't purchase MS Points
