hey guys

is it just me or is anyone else bummed about the state of our xbox live that we worked so hard to get.

i mean new games get released on the arcade (section 8:prejudice) and they are awesome. but when you go to download them you find you can only get a theme pack and a t-shirt for your avatar. i know the whole thing with games rating etc but come on. they should have thought of that when implementing live in SA.

i feel absolutely robbed of my experience.

Well what most of us oukes do who migrated was create a UK account on the PC, and just use your local MSP to buy whatever you want on the UK store... We might have gotten the short end of the stick. But there is more then one way to skin a cat ;)

Yes, there's no real excuse. It's simply that we're not even an afterthought to Microsoft. To add insult they charge a huge premium for the Live subscription locally. And probably for the points too.

Yep it sucks ass. Thank goodness I tested it with a new account and didn't migrate. They can keep their free 800 points.

Same here. I'm sticking with my UK account.
I wouldn't give a toss if Microsoft decide to kill XBox Live SA - it's practically useless anyway.

Just another service to shaft South Africans. ****ing joke if you ask me.
And why in Gods name do we pay more?! :wtf:

I ported and created a second accout for my brother so is cored the 800 MSP and can still take advantage of the offers. I'm sure someday they'll offer a merge account facility (probaly when they release the next gen console).

I read on their Facebook page that we should expect an "exciting announcement in the near future" with regard to this. Based on the Legal Briefs I have been reading these past few weeks, it might have something to do with the rating systems. From what we understand it would seem that international content rating systems might well be recognised locally. This may or may not cause rapid population of the SA Xbox LIVE service, but if ESRB ratings really is the only thing that is hampering local LIVE, then there [jeremyclarksonvoice] might be a light... at the end of the tunnel.[/jeremyclarksonvoice]

1st @dal2000 - you pay more, go to mspoints and buy from there UK points work on SA accounts, or another slightly cheaper site is cheapcodes.co.za (ZAPS related Site)

this is a pretty old discussion, and if you have been on the XBOX LIVE ZA account since day 1, you will notice that it has improved, we are basically getting all new arcade games that the US gets when they released, while DLC for some games are still a slight problem, i know for example Home-front had some DLC issues which was sorted out, but other than that we Also Get the Games on Demand now when new ones are added,

we received Facebook and Twitter Apps, so i say in time we will be on top, items like Netflix and ESPN is not related completly to Xbox live, I.E we simply do not have those services in the country if we did then a feature of that service would be added to Local Live, so thats out our control, all in time, but so far i have no complaints, thats just me...

I agree. I have been signing petitions, shouting at threads and hitting my genitals for local live. There is no way that I am not going to support local live. A pity about Torchlight not on our arcade selection yet.
