Hey Guys,

Im having a few issues, I signed up a gametag with my current live passport i have had for years... It seemed to have worked fine, but when logining on xbox.com its signs me in ok then i get the xbox page with "Page is Unavailable" and I cant go any further, I can click on Manage my Profile, but still nothing!!!

When trying to retrieve my Xbox Game Tag via the Machine it says "xbox live is not currently available in the locale associated with this xbox.com account". My passport & machine are set to UK but no luck, I had to sign up a new passport via the box.. which i dont want to use... but works... YAY i get 1 month gold free...

ANYWAYS

I called Xbox Live Support and they dont want to help me... anyone know why this is happening? or Had this issues, seems my gametag that I want is blocked or something maybe due to it been affiliated with South Africa?

Hope I dont get flamed for this... or im asking something that has been asked before... i did search

We don't have official Live so the official support will tell you to get stuffed.

Check your locale of your passport. I know you have said it is set to UK but I think you are mistaken ;)

It doesn't care what locale the Xbox is though. If you are using Hotmail then check that locale.

What's wrong with the new passport? You can change the email address of the new passport if you like
 
When you login to the xboxlive.com website check that you are on either US or International on top of the webpage. I had that issue once and couldnt see anybody from my profile until i swapped to US-International.
 
i get a different error now, says the server is busy... is it busy... or is this just another way of telling me im still fekked...

hmmm yeah ill give it abit of time... are you able to login now?
 
Just an Update....

Still get that stupid error... cant login with my origional passport :( looks like im going to have sign up or use the test one I created when attempting to get it to work. Microsoft dont want to help me, dont care about this issue.. which has now really upset me..

Wish they had Live Support in SA

if you log in to xboxlive.com via a south african IP they sometimes block your account as has happened to a friend of mine although i am not 100% sure.

as sad as it might be my suggestion would be to create a new gamerID and make sure your IP is non south african if you do log in to xboxlive via browser.

but i cant confirm this is the problem - but i know someone who had similiar issues to yours.
 
Probably not IP's, most of us have done similarly.

But do check that the region of the passport account is set to UK and not ZA, and if I'm not mistaken there's two places you need to set it. I think it was on the address, and on the account region.
 
Yeah i have looked everywhere , my setting are all to UK! but I could only find 1 place for this... sux really.... but yeah a new Gaming accoung would prob need to be my next step..
 
I log into XBox live website all the time. Do most of my friend management etc from there. Not blocked as yet. I really doubt that they are doing anything like that. But as doobs said, check that your passport account isn't ZA registered.
 
yeah its prob that, but i have changed it to UK now, and its still not letting me passed there, just tried again now and NO LUCK! :( sucks cause I really want to use JaMMeX as my GameTag
 
There's a sneaky trick - try logging into Windows Live! Messenger and change your settings there. I remember someone metioning either that, or logging onto the the actual Passport.net site and doing it there.

Something works, because I had the same issue and resolved it except now I get all UK C2rp spam on my Messneger tabs ;)
 
Yeah I have tried both, but because I set my JaMMeX Gametag account to South Africa... I think thats the issue... it wont let me login and fix it...
