Has anyone been able to setup a connection between the xbox and computer to share music etc, if so how did you do it ?

My xbox live is working perfectly but when I try to setup media sharing with my pc I the network is detected, ip detected but pc selected test fails everytime, is their a way to fix it ?

I have even installed zune but cant detect xbox from zune

Exactly same prob here. Win XP Pro SP2 and using Mediaplayer 11 which sees the xbox just fine, and "allowed". 360 can't see pc....

/update...might be router-related, both pc and 360 connected to Netgear ? Killed Sygate on the pc for this exercise, so it's not that

No, mp11 works fine, but you have to go into the settings/tools/options and enable media sharing, as well as allowing all devices to connect. in addition, make sure the media is in the MP library.

I just installed connect360 on my Mac, and all my music, photos and videos were autmatically on the 360

Does it rely on the codecs installed on the 'host' PC/MAC or does it have it's own?

a dumb question but connect360 is it a mac only application or is it windows based as well ? and if so could you maybe provide a link ?

Mine is working just fine on WinXP SP2 (no media center)

Check that your firewall isnt blocking the sharing ports (sorry not sure which ones they are now, but you should be able to find the info on xbox.com).

Another option is to load tversity. Then you can share non-wmv files as well. Works like a charm :)

Note: if running Tversity make sure WMP11 media sharing disabled.

I dont have any firewalls only the default winxp sp2 firewall. I have disabled it to see if it works but still doesnt work

Yes. It does. But only wmv movie files, and mp3/wma audio (probably wav too). But not AAC, which is strange as I can get AAC update for xbox to play AAC from my iPod.

Tversity however transcodes almost anything before streaming to xbox, so you can watch avi and divx etc. I've gotten the avi's to work, but strangely not my AAC music files.

Check out TVersity. Does the same job as Media player 11 but enables you to stream, radio, online video content, rss feeds, divx and all dat stuff...
