does xbox 360 have a problem reading ntfs hdd's like the playstation does? or........

and how do i upgrade the firmware so i can watch divx and other format movies and series on there?

It doesn't read ntfs. Connect to xbox live and it will ask you to update.

it cant read NTFs, updating wont help either.
just format the HDD in fat 32 and it will read,

He was referring to the divx update. Obvious, no?

Try play a divx/xvid file while you are online and you will be prompted to update.
