Xbox One not backwards compatible with 360 discs, Arcade games

To be expected with Microsoft.
Applies to the PS4 too btw
This is the same reasoning behind Sony’s similar move. Both the PS4 and the Xbox One are based on x86 architecture, which is different to the architecture employed in the PS3 and Xbox 360.

We don't know what Sony's alternative is either. Think we should all rather wait for E3 to see what's what instead of speculating. I mean we don't even know what the PS4 looks like and people are already moaning about stupid things like how the X1 looks.

I honestly couldn't care less... Why play old games when you have the latest and greatest.

This thing is as ugly as fsk! Looks like the original PS2 on roids.

I don't get the complaints about looks. Looks pretty good to me and will fit in nicely with the rest of my black box like entertainment system. I think it looks GEEEEEWWWWWWDDDDD.

Still not sure if it will be better than the PS4 though. PS4 seems more "game" orientated.

As awesome as that would be, it won't be possible... ironically enough, with a little bit of tweaking, original Xbox games should work on the Xbox One due to them both possessing x86 architectures...

However it would most likely be a slide show.
It might open the possiblity of an emulator on the PC though.

Ag please, with all that processing power they should easily be able to play these games at full quality in an emulator.
There is no reason (except the financial one) not to make the games backward compatible.
