Xbox One SA launch date and many other rumours

October 2014?! For a console which is inferior to it's direct competition which is available now, at a cheaper price.

Damnit!!!!! That is still ages away. Oh well, just going to have to be patient

You seem to prefer some other product based on your usage of the word inferior. Are you interested in buying the Xbox One, or why would you post that comment?

Oops, not really surprising given Microsoft's track record when it comes to trying to commercialize anything but operating systems locally.

Think he's referring to hardware-wise. Feature-wise they each have their pros and cons.

What are you on about?

He is right though. It's slower, bigger and more expensive than the PS4.

The word "inferior" is a pejorative. And considering the specs are basically a wash, with a slight edge to the PS (Unless he was talking about something else) in some aspects (And with a slight edge to the Xbox in another aspect), it is strange why he would use a pejorative.
My suspicion is that he came into the thread to troll. He has no real interest in the Xbox release

In terms of specs, it's not a slight edge mate, it's closer to 50%. Sure the differences may not be too obvious now, but the limitations will present themselves in the years to come. This is of course considering gaming only.

The PS3 is inferior to the PS4. The PS4 is much faster.
The Xbox 360 is inferior to the PS4. The PS4 is much faster.

The PS3 has slightly better specs than the Xbox One. It is not "superior". It is only slightly better. And that is only if you choose to ignore the specs of the camera. Which is an silly thing to do.

Going into a thread about the release date of product A and calling it "inferior" smells like trolling

Are they being transported on dinghy boats? Why else would it take so long to get here?

I suspect they need the TV guide data for each countries cable/satellite providers. And we are low down on the list

So the much faster memory bandwidth and 50% more shaders is only a slight edge for you? There is a reason why they are still having difficulty achieving 1080p at 60 FPS on the X1. The 32MB eSRAM in the X1 helps a bit, but is hardly enough to make up for the lack of raw power.

The Kinect is far superior to the Eye, I'll grant you that. But I prefer to have the option of buying it, rather than being forced to. This part is a matter of personal preference. In terms of the core console - the differences are not slight.

If memory serves me correct, Sony is usually first out the gate when it comes to getting their hardware out to the markets, but Microsoft has a way of catching up. We will see in a year or two (or three), when both consoles are out in all of the markets and are on their second face-lift/refresh/slimline version. It will take a while for developers to truly unlock the potential of either console. Gears of War 1 looks like a dogs breakfast compared to GOW Judgement. My money would be spent on the PS4 right now, but i cant guarantee that I wont want a slimline Xbox One 2 years from now.

The 360 was released a year ahead of the PS3. One of the reasons why it succeeded in so many markets.

Yeah, that is only a slight edge. Shaders are only one aspect of a console.

As an example, the touch sensor of the iPhone is far better than sensors used in other products. And it is a very important aspect. It does not however make other products "inferior". It makes the iPhone slightly better in a certain aspect. There are many other aspects to consider, and it is the sum of all of these aspects that determine how good a product is

How is the Kinect not part of the core console?? It most certainly seems to be part of the core console

We know the specs in comparison, but I would still appreciate to see the gaming experience on both consoles, when it comes to the very same game (one made to play on PS4 and other on the Xbox One). Superior specs is superior, but the processing required is a whole other scenario.

Also, when is the possible release date to see Steam Consoles mainstream? I checked a non-disclosed OEM list and yikes, some prestigious companies will be pushing consoles and/or custom builds. The reason I'm mentioning this is due to these consoles eating into the PS4/Xbox One global market shares.

I was referring specifically to gaming, not entertainment devices. Made this clear earlier by differentiating between hardware and features. The Kinect, as a gaming device, is aimed at a specific market who play very specific types of games. It's not for everyone, hence it would have been better if it was optional. No serious gamer is going to use it to play Gears of War. As an entertainment system, MS do hold the edge - as a console meant to play games, they do not.
