Xbox One (US) power supplies

Just a post to share my experiences in case someone else is struggling with the same:

I bought an Xbox one (US version) but stupidly enough the power supply is not a generic 100-240 for only 100-127 Volts. So my options were to either find a replacement brick or buy a step up transformer. I found a suitable transformer but it's hideously ugly and i don't want that in my living room so I didn't buy it. Unfortunately Microsoft also doesn't (yet) sell these power supplies separately, and their product help website is **** and full of errors.
So, china to the rescue, i found a supplier in Hong Kong that does expedited shipping using DHL (total cost about R500). Will provide details in PM if anyone's interested.
Now if SA customs don't delay i should be up and running by tomorrow.

I also took delivery of a US Xbox One about 2 weeks ago, which works perfectly with a basic 300W step-down transformer from Zakspeed. In the mean-time I've ordered an EU PSU for R250 - I should have it in the next few days as well (touch wood - used standard shipping). Will give an update.
 
My chinese power supply arrived but it's not up to scratch... firstly, it's very loud with a noisy built in fan. but worse than that it seems underpowered. the official power supply apparently delivers up to 230 W, my chinese one is 135W. Although the Xbox one doesn't seem to draw more than 120 W according to tests, as soon as i plug in the kinect sensor, the unit shuts down.

Also bizarrely (and maybe related), as soon as i power up my xbox my ADSL speeds drop to basically 0. This is even when it's not even connected to the network, just switching it on.
As soon as i switch it off, the network comes back up. it's not related to the xbox hogging bandwidth as it's even when it's not connected to the network. The only reason i can think of is that somehow that powersupply is messing with the modem cause it's on the same electric circuit.
That.. or black magic...
 
update: my generic power supply was definitely messing with my ADSL so I would NOT recommend buying one.
I settled instead for a 300W step down transformer (bought at Zakspeed) and everything works like a dream...
 
you havn't had any issues, just got my xbox one and realised this power issue :( will go get the transformer tomorrow
 
No problem with the EU version, PSU that I got with it works great.
Also I've bought of the USA store without any issues.
 
Sell your USA power brick on ebay.com, they are in demand and then use the cash to buy one from the UK.

The chinses ones are rubbish, noisy bastards.

Hi which step-down transformer did you buy? Is it noisy or not so bad?

Just to help guys out, I struggled to find a step down converter, tried all the big chains, Game, Makro, Builders, Console guys, a few electrical guys. Ended up going to Mica Mega store - Eastgate (funny a normal Mica told me it was not an off the shelf item anywhere). Found 3 types, about R400 - R600, varied from 200 - 500W, I think they all work, I ended up getting the biggest one. It is however a little noisy and chunky and I end up switching it off when I am done with it.

I'll most likely get an OEM brick when they are launched so I can leave it in standbye for downloads.
