Hi all,

Kid has run out of space on his 364GB Series S. What cheap expansion solutions are there. As far as I know if you want to play games off a device it needs to be an expansion card. Apparently you can just buy a NVME and an adapter, just not sure what type. Looking for 512GB/1TB.

I did see some WD and Seagate solutions but they are off their rockers if I look at pricing locally. 1TB WD Black on Amazon.com is $99, Incredible wants 5k.

Only Series Enhanced games will need the highspeed storage, for normal Xbox One games you can get away with a normal USB 3 hdd
Otherwise

I use an old 512 SSD in an cheap case.
TBH I dont think I have had an issue with games not running from it but I do swap demanding games to main drive anyway. It takes a couple minutes (and beats 80GB download).

Bought my WD black from Amazon US last black friday ($150) took a week to deliver.

If its now $99, I would recommend that route.

Ok so in the case of COD a SSD will be fine then?

What's your budget?
Well if I look at Amazon special I can get 2 x 1TB WB Black C50's for 3k, but with silly season delivery will only be end December. Lets say R1500.

The SSD on the Xbox yes, as it's an Xbox Enhanced game
I should know these things. But here goes. BO6 update came through and he is unable to update due to lack of space. For some reason cant delete any of the COD modules in order to free up space. Plan would be to run B06 off a SSD drive you are saying that can be done?

No cause it is an Xbox Series Game. Is BO6 the only game on the Xbox?

Yup, for some reason cant delete the campaign to free up the 2GB needed to run game. Absolute joke.

so its not a branded xbox media storage . how did you get this right

cos you can get this for around R700

While on the topic, crazy to see the price difference between Amazon.co.za (R5077) and Amazon.com (R1999) for the same WB BLACK C50. Even without the Black Friday $50 discount you are saving over 2k landed.

That is cause Amazon is the same as Takealot. They not really selling the stuff themself, just a middle man to takes orders and organize the delivery. ie: Online Shop front for people to sell stuff.

I have the same problem with the kids running out of space on the xbox s. I don't know anything when it comes to external hard drives. 1TB of space will work. But Seagate is a bit expensive. Any other brands I could try that's a bit cheaper?
