Hi guys how do I hook up my XBOX 360 Elite to my Samsung SyncMaster 226BW (22" WIDESCREEN)? My screen is HD capable.

Elite via an HDMI to DVI cable? My VGA does not offer HD output on the Samsung. When I go into the Xbox 360 Elite console menu I can only change widescreen/normal, resolution, and colors, not HD or standard def. Is this the Xbox 360's fault, the cable (HDMI to DVI), the monitor (is HDCP HD?), stupid luck, or stupid me?

Any help will be appreciated.

You can connect it using the HDMI-DVI connector yes but you'll probably have to route your sound another way. I use the component cables to route audio through my PC.

You can use the VGA cable cable as well but go for a non-MS one because those are cheaper and essentially do the same thing. You won't explicitly get a choice for SH/HD, just choose a resolution as close as possible to 1680x1050 (which is your LCDs native res). When the NXE hits next month, I heard it's gonna support 16:10 resolutions so in a few weeks you'll see a pixel for pixel image because 1680x1050 will be available in the list of resolutions.
