Hey All

I have a 2.1 Harmon Kardon pc sound setup on my LCD and XBOX.I have all my content stored on my Seagate TB.I have noticed that if i play Divx content i cannot change the volume with my Xbox Universal remote.Since the Harmon Kardon doesnt have a remote,i have to wake up to change the volume.

Why cant i change the volume on both DVD's played or Divx or even music with this remote. Can only use it to change the TV volume.

well the xbox doesnt have a volume setting per se, you can change the volume for music and you can change game volume in game, but not for videos. unfortunately you're stuck doing it manually

Hmmm...well the only solution i can say is to get a 5.1 surround with a remote for the active sub .In this way i can change my volume.
yeah id say thats the only way, or find a cheap amp with a remote and send the audio through that and then to your speakers

It's like a DVD player without a built-in amp - not many of them have a volume setting. It's not the device's job to modify the audio, but the amplifier's. If the Xbox had a built-in amp into which you could plug your speakers, then no doubt it would have a native volume control.
