Hi all,

I have ported my UK account to SA (via xbox.com), and then tried to login to Xbox Live.

Once it connects to Xbox Live it says I need to download an update before continuing. The update fails and I am stuck in an endless loop i.e. every time I try to connect to Xbox Live it forces me to download the system update.

If I test the Xbox Live Connection, it woks 100% and immediately asks me to download the update!
Now I cant play COD Black Ops online this weekend!

This post suggests downloading the update and manually updating the xbox: http://forums.xbox.com/34844388/ShowPost.aspx , which i will try 2nite.

Does anyone else have this issue and\or a solution?

Thanks,

I had this problem too. Manual updates didn't work, as my Xbox didn't recognise the CD/USB drive upon startup.

The only thing I could put it down to was server load, because when I tried the update at 10am on the weekend then it worked. Most of the poms and yanks are still asleep at that time.

I normally download updates via my PC, copy to USB and then upgrade. Otherwise it often times when upgrading on the XBOX

you need to either clear the system cache which will also delete all game updates or google how to delete the dashboard update (which will keep the game updates but reset the dash to the last major revision. This will fix the problem and i suggest you try to the 2nd option first. Let us know if this helps.

Thanks for the advice guys. I downloaded the update on Saturday morning with no issues. Issue must be due to server load.
