Why is it that the VGA cable for the Xbox ranges in price from R315 (BTGames) to R499 (Musica)?

I can pick up the official VGA cable for Xbox made by Microsoft for R87. And that *includes* shipping!

WTF???

You sure? Because it's M$ packaged and I contacted the seller and they say it's direct from M$...

Of course I'm sure! The Chinese package it just like the original. They want to make a sale so they will obviously state it's an original product,

The official VGA cable comes with the official audio adapter and manual inside. The cost price on the official VGA cable is R200 ... so that is why the retailers ask R315+ to make a profit.

I import several accessories and replacement parts a month for my business, so I'm fully aware of what original and generic products cost.

I can assure you that the VGA cable you linked to on eBay is a 3rd party product. Not to say it's crap, as there are lots of generic products that perform well.

I myself sell generic VGA cables for R200, made by Dragon Electronics who make decent 3rd party stuff.

I've always bought generic stuff when it comes to things like this. But I'm having problems with my generic Xbox VGA cable. I'm getting a kinda ghost image with it. Nothing too serious, but since I've noticed it, I don't want to use it anymore. I'm back on HDMI now, but since my tv is only 720P, I would rather use the VGA because I can then select 1366 x 768.

Bought a LOGIC3 cable imported from the UK through Take2 @ R170 back in 2007. I'm still using it on my 32" HDTV as it's superior to component.

It is for that exact reason I forked out for the original cable. I heard this happening a few times.
