Was looking at buying myself an XBOX 360 from the USA. Has anybody done this?

1) Are there any issues regarding power supplies? (I know a lot of hardware from the USA now automatically switches between 220v etc.)
2) NTSC shouldn’t be a problem should it? Don’t most TV's now handle this?
3) Is there an issue about PAL vs. NTSC games?

Any help would be appreciated ;)

Thanks

I think you going to need to get a step down converter. I heard this from take2 forums.

If your TV supports NTSC no problem at all. Most TV's support PAL60 also now wich is the euro 30FPS standard. Ofcourse if you got a hi-def tv or monitor you can hook the console upto that aswell as they use their own standard apart from ntsc and pal.

Availability and price, other than that there are no diffrences.

*EDIT again* soz, I read Xbox not 360, thanks Werner

Only have experience on the Xbox, not the 360

Although I would wait for the SA release of the 360, alot safer unless you can get it much cheaper

yeah, if he wanted a normal xbox, not a xbox 360 as he so states.

tell me, why not buy from uk? same electricity, same tv standard.

There are rumours floating around that the XBox 360 will be released here soon. M$ told me they would announce something in August.

I am waiting for that so that if I have a problem with the box I won't have to ship it to the States... Also don't forget you are legally obliged to pay customs on an Xbox 360 purchased from the UK or US.

No problems paying VAT on the item. Just want to know how much of a mission it will be getting it to work here...
