XBOX360: Am I retarted ?

I have been having trouble with my Inet connection for the last couple of days.. I use my xbox360 as a media extender.

It seem when i can't connect to live the extender will stop working.. is this a setting i am missing ?

How is it set up? Do you have a PC acting as a media server, a 360, and both connected to your router?

If it is, then monitor the state of your router when the internet connection drops. Connect a laptop/PC to the router and try to ping the media server PC. This will tell you if there's a problem with the router itself. It could be the router dropping your internet connection.

Yeah I have the following all connected via cable
A router as the dhcp server (office)
A PC acting at a media server (office)
An Xbox 360 acting as an extender (lounge)

It just seem when i try to run the media center on the Xbox360 if my Inet(can't log into live) is down.. then i can't stream video..
