1. Internet link
2. Create Live account
3. Set your location to either US or UK (use correct post code) No Live in SA yet.
4. Put your address details to your South African address, just keep the postal code to US or UK.
5. Use your South Africa credit card to buy a Gold Membership through Xbox Live.
6. or buy Gold membership from Take2.
7. Play..

Well, the most important bit is to always us a UK location details like Postal code, if not a complete address.

The other thing to do is probably create a passport/Windows Live!/MSN Messenger account ( hotmail login thingy ) beforehand and attach it to your xbox account, rather then try to create one on the fly (also UK btw). It's also better to create the xbox live account on the box, because you get a months free gold the first time you do.

Also remember by doing so, you'll be able to see your MSN contacts when you're on the 360, but vice versa, so beware of playing hooky ;)

In terms of payment options: You can save yourself a few bob by ordering the 12 months subs, and even a few bob more than that by buying a key from ebay. Me, I do things the hard way and pay month by month via credit card debit order directly through the box, it costs me R70 a month which is the most expensive way of doing it, but for the amount of time I spend on Live it seems like nothing really.

You can buy a 12 month XBL Gold membership for around R440 from DVD Crave, unless you want to try your luck on eBay. :)
