Apologies for the site! It has been a mess for quite a while. It will only be updated end of March. Our developer has been spending all his energy on our backend systems. Ryuji you can contact us if you would like to test before you buy!! Contact [email protected] for info.

cool. got documents and a freaking router too. now i wonder where that goes ;)

...heard a whisper that theres going to be caching of p2p for local users.
could be nice - local p2p !

owell lets see what happens

....very nice. 200-300ms gaming without a cap. hec same line for any and every thing still uncapped (on par with sat3 speeds)

384 account - according to xdsl :)

hmmm the network traffic split seems to be the key here.

75% local, and 25% international.

seems that these accounts are going to be pro local and then international.

it felt more like a 100% local and of that 50% international speed - 100Kbps local would then be ±50Kbps international.

i personally prefer a 1:1 ratio in all fields...

Hi Ryuji. Additional local and international can be added in 64k increments.
Bumped up you’re international for the weekend. Should get close to 1:1 now.
Play around and let us know! You need to restart you're modem for settings to take affect.

my pleasure to help out and test.

thank you for bringing out one of you own products into adsl market.

Why does XDSL's prices exclude VAT? Who else in the world(except SA) buys XDSL accounts? And as far as I know it's a legal requirement for all companies who sell in South Africa to have VAT already included in their selling price (I'll go search for the legal jargon bit later but the above to points are still valid)

EDIT: Here is the legal documentation

I think it depends who you intend to market your product to. As a business the Vat price is useless because u will claim it back. If it is an uncapped product chances are it will be aimed at corprates. All our supplier price lists and products are listed in ex-vat like wise with our service charges, I don't see it as a problem. However if the product was aimed at the home user then I have a big problem with it.

Well Legally speaking it doesn't matter what they can't advertise prices without VAT inclusive, that's why I posted the link to the actual legal document.

SARS said:
Any price advertised or quoted by any vendor in respect of any taxable supply of goods or services shall include tax and the vendor shall in his advertisement or quotation' state that the price includes tax, unless the total amount of the tax chargeable under section 7(1)(a), the price excluding tax and the price inclusive of tax for the supply are advertised or quoted by the vendor: Provided that-

i) where the price inclusive of tax and the price excluding tax for a supply are advertised or quoted, both prices shall be advertised or quoted with equal prominence and impact;

ii) price tickets on goods need not state that the prices include tax if this is stated by way of a notice prominently displayed at all entrances to the premises in which the enterprise is carried on and at all points in such premises where payments are effected;

iii) the Commissioner may in the case of any vendor or class of vendors approve any other method of displaying prices of goods or services by such vendor or class of vendors during a period approved by the Commissioner which commences before and ends after the commencement date or, where the rate of tax is increased or reduced, the date on which the increased or reduced rate of tax takes effect.

iv) a vendor may not state or imply that any form of trade, cash or any other form of discount or refund is in lieu of the tax chargeable in terms of section 7(1)(a).

My problem is the prices are misleading, I see the advertisements all over the place advertising R63 per Gig for ADSL which it then obviously isn't, and I had to actually go to the website to clarify (I didn't follow the X-DSL Business link but the standard link and the prices where still ex VAT). The government did away with the system where customers calculate the taxes themselves because the system was a problem. I'll advice SARS of the situation and get their feedback, to me it seems like misleading the potential customer.

Thanks James, yes corporate's wants Ex vat prices, as they claim vat back.
XDSL has XDSL Broadband (Aimend at end users) which qoute and advertise VAT inclusive and XDSL Bussiness that qoutes and advertise VAT exclusive.

I don't know if that is one of those rules then that know one including the gauvamint cares about as every one of my suppliers quotes prices EX VAT and I don't see Trevor giving a flying about it.
