Hi everyone,

I need some advice and help please regarding the "bi-xenon" lights.

I bought the dual system from autostyle and they really look great, but...

Its got a metal shield thing at the bottom of the bulb, basically what it looks like to me is that it shields away light from the bulb to the bottom half of my cars headlight housing. If you look at the car from the front it looks like only the top half of the light is shining.

The problem i have is that on dim after adjusting from inside the car it looks ok, on bright it looks like they shining in the air and leaving a dark spot at the nose of the car. If i adjust it lower the bright works well and "dark" spot becomes less but then the dims is too low.

What is that plate for directly under the bulb and would it be better if i take it off so that the xenon bulb can use the full reflector of the cars light housing?

Will this problem always be there even if you had it ajusted at the AA?

Good day.
First what car is in question? What bulb did you buy?
The little shield is there to switch between dim and brights. Normal bulbs have have 2 filaments, one for dim and one for brights. With xenon there is no filaments. The bulb gives light all the way. The little shield is suppose to block a part of the little for the dims and then when brights is switch on the little shield moves away and all the light is reflected out.
I thinking that maybe the xenon does not sit right in the headlight.

Hi Devlin,

Thanks for the quick responce.

Its a Kia Cerato CRDI, i phoned autostyle and they want me to go there to have them check it.

I have checked the seating of the bulbs, its got the 3 little metal plates on the base of the bulb and those can only fit one way , plus the little wire spring that clamps the bulb in place can only fit if the bulb is seated flush with the headlight itself.

I dont know if ajusting the light itself wil help? because it looks like the difference between the dim/bright is too much.

regards
G
