hey dudes

i have noticed over the past 2 months that those first xfx 7600gs 256mb passive cooled cards(non-extreme edition one) were a real problem for some people and myself!!! also had a customer with a problem !!!
ive had 2 cards that caused constant tearing in games and different colours
eventually i got a new model that works properly with a fan from axis
tested over weekend and i am happy A CARD THAT WORKS LOL :D
any other people had these problems ?

much better and than the old one :)

laterz

my advice to ppl is never to buy a vga card that does not have a fan

firstly that 7600 std runs hot without a fan, so what does xfx go and do, they overclock it and dont add a fan

I am very happy with my Asus 6600 passive cooled. I love the fact that it doesnt produce any noise, and since my pc is in my room, and on 24/7 it is nice to have a quieter machine. Now if only i could rob a bank and get meself a Zalman TNN case (approx R6000 excl from suppliers) then I would be really happy.

Actually the sample NVidia 7600GS PCIe they showed came out as passive cooled except that some manufacturers felt the need to bling the card and charge more for it by slapping on their funky finned heatpipe and space sucking fans.

The only 7600GS that really needs a fan is the AGP version as it needs additional power and the AGP-PCIe bridge chip runs as hot as hell.
