Hi all,

A question for a friend of mine. He bought an XFX HD4870 from pcint a while back and it is now starting to make funny rattling noises, so he thought he'd take it back to pcint as it is still under warranty but obviously pcint no longer stock 4870's. He got given the option of paying in extra and getting a HD4890 instead or something similiar to that effect, but he'd rather just get it replaced with another HD4870.

I've tried googling and am struggling to find the full info but as far as I know XFX's warranty has to go through who you bought it from so I'd like to know if this is the case or if its possible to RMA the card straight to XFX instead of going to pcint? and if so how would one go about doing this?

Thanks in advance

You can try and take it back to Axiz as they import xfx, they should have some 4870's.

I tried to get my 8800 GTX replaced by XFX but they sent me straight to Axiz (dist) to sort it out with them as they dont do warranties themselves. So after fighting forever i paid in a bit and got a GTX280 from Axiz since they could not get ahold of any 8800's

Imho you should give the people **** where you bought it from, they sold you the product and the service. grind them till they cough up a suitable replacement.

+1

And if they don't budge, definitely take it to Axiz or send them a mail... Their address is floating around these forums somewhere if you have a search.

Thanks for the replies guy, I'll give Axiz a call and see what they say :)
