New Xiaomi EV gets 90,000 orders in a day

Xiaomi Corp. surged in Hong Kong as orders for its first electric vehicle topped estimates, fueling optimism the smartphone maker may succeed in China’s cutthroat car market.

Shares rose as much as 16% on the first day of trading since Beijing-based Xiaomi kicked off sales of its cars. The company said it received orders of nearly 90,000 units within the first 24 hours.

On a serious note, the Chinese automakers are going to dominate EV.

So far this seems like an absolutely stellar first outing for a company doing their first car.

Looks like the Porsche Taycan...so in true China's Usual Normal Trendy Style, they knock off of the original with a few tweaks to say, "it's different".

Sure, it may be cheaper but then ask yourself, what shortcuts did they take when reverse engineering a Porsche? How safe is it? How good will the battery be? How reliable will it be?

China's dominating the EV world yet what you don't hear is how many Chinese EV makers are going bankrupt with unsustainable production practices, produces 1000's of EVs that just end up in car lots to rust away, all the time the western world is "combatting climate change" by simply pushing ALL the manufacturing carbon footprints in China, one of the many countries GUILTY of not being responsible about anything.
