A week ago I got the Xiaomi Note 8 as it was 4 grand which I didn't think was bad for this level of smartphone.
However, for the life of me nowhere on the camera or phone settings, Google YouTube etc can I find out how to set the resolution to 720P. And I mean nowhere. If anyone has a Xiaomi note and knows how to do it please let me know.

I don't have a note 8. ( I have a mi9 t pro) but to change video resolution I open the camera app. Select video then click on the menu in the top right corner. Then I can change resolution

Thank you so much. I think I'm confusing people here What I mean is I can't find the resolution for the photo not a video. The video resolution I can also find.

Camera settings has picture quality. Mine is set to high. Then in the camera app you have picture frame. That's how you see the picture on your screen I think.

Lastly you have the 64M option when you swipe. If you zoom out then you use the wide angle lense and then you have the macro option.
